The Kodak SV811 EasyShare is a member of the SV digital frame series. Relatively small at 8-inches, the model is available from $130 to $150 at various retailers. The leading features of the SV811 are sharp picture quality and excellent multimedia playback support.
You can load images on to the frame either from a PC or the Kodak EasyShare Gallery. The EasyShare Gallery will require you to login; you will need to key in your password through the on-screen keyboard. To store photos in the frame itself, you can use the 128 MB of onboard memory or you can plug in a USB drive. Supported USB formats include SD, Multimedia Card, Memory Stick, xD, Compact Flash and Microdrive.
Note that only pictures in JPEG and EXIF formats are supported by the SV811. Music (MP3) slideshows and video playback are available, adding tremendously to the multimedia value of the digital frame. Video playback, however, is restricted to MPEG, QuickTime (.mov) and AVI files. The display is a crisp 800x480-pixel LCD widescreen with a 16:9 aspect ratio.
User interface is simple yet comprehensive as is the PC synchronization software. Should you have any difficulty with the installation process, there’s a very detailed manual that is shipped with the frame itself. Also shipped are an AC power cable and a USB cable. A one-year warranty is included with your purchase.
