Frame Description
The smallest member of the SV series, Kodak EasyShare SV710 is compact, budget-model. Available for less than $140 at many retailers, this is also one of the cheapest mainstream digital photo frames on the market today. As with most other budget-models, the SV710 lacks in picture quality and screen resolution, and there’s no wireless capability; however, its excellent host of features including good multimedia playback help offset these drawbacks.
The SV710’s display is a 7-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 480 × 234 pixels and a16:9 aspect ratio. As mentioned, picture quality isn’t the best in the market but is high in contract and sharp enough to facilitate a good viewing experience. One major difference between the SV710 and other EasyShare models is that this one comes with very little onboard memory which only lets you store a few select photos. However, you can still connect to Kodak’s EasyShare gallery to download pictures or load them from your PC using the USB cable included in the package. Six standard USB formats are supported. There’s also excellent support for MP3 and video files, including MOV, AVI and MPEGs. The frame comes with a very user-friendly piece of software for transferring files from a PC to your frame as well as a simple user interface for the frame itself. With the keyhole slot on the back of the frame, it can be hung on a wall, or propped up with a flip-out stand. However, you will still need to connect it to a nearby AC power source as the SV710 does not run on batteries. A one-year warranty accompanies your purchase.
