Image Formats
The EX811 supports pictures in JPEG and EXIF formats. MP3s can also be played, and there’s also a neat selection of supported video formats including MPEG, AVI and Quicktime. While onboard memory is limited to 128 MB, you can always make use of the USB slots available on the side of the frame. Compact Flash, xD, MicroDrive, Secure Digital, and flash drives are some of the supported USB drive types.
Through the USB slot, you can also transfer pictures from a PC, and connect to a printer or a camera. What’s even better is that if you have Wi-Fi at home, files can be streamed to the frame through it, which is, of course, a wireless transfer.
For displaying your photos, you have the option of either operating with the manual controls, or the remote controller. Either way, you can select both onboard photos as well as connect to the EasyShare gallery. Pictures and videos are displayed on the 8-inch LCD, which is 800x480 pixels in resolution. If you wish to watch a slideshow with music, you’ll find that MP3s are played back through the inbuilt speakers that sound loud and fresh.
The user interface is easily navigable and all the operations can be done smoothly with the remote controller. The PC synchronization software is equally simple to install and use.
The EX811 is powered directly through an AC source; batteries are not supported.
