Manage your photos from the web
The highlight of the product is its wireless capability that lets you synchronize the digital frame with both your Windows PC and Kodak’s free online service, the EasyShare Gallery. This allows you to upload pictures on the internet and view them later on your digital frame. You could also transfer images onto the 128 MB of internal memory available on the EX-1011.
Once the images have been loaded and placed in folders, you can make slideshows of them, choosing from 12 different transitions; these can all be shared via Wi-Fi with other owners of Kodak digital frames.
If you wish to transfer and view large batches of photographs, you can take advantage of the USB slots found on the EX-1011. These slots support such drives as Compact Flash, SD, xD, memory sticks etc. You may also use these to stream files in MP3, AVI, MOV, MPEG 1, and MPEG 4 formats from a PC to your digital frame.
Images are displayed on a 10-inch diagonal LCD screen at a resolution of 800x480 pixels. The display is bordered by a black inner frame and a swappable outer one. User interface is thankfully very simple and can be controlled either with the buttons present on the frame itself, or through the handy remote that ships with the EX-1011. When not in use, the remote controller can be holstered into its cover and snapped onto the frame’s backside. Here, you’ll find slots for hanging the frame on a wall, or mounting it on a flip-out stand. The EX-1011 can be powered by a direct AC source and does not run on batteries.
