Manage Images from the Web |

Wireless digital picture frames connect to the internet and download your pictures from a number of online services, without you connecting the frame to your computer or updating the memory card. Pretty cool. The trick is know which services work well and which ones are more trouble than they are worth. There are 3 main systems for managing images from the web: Kodak EasyShareGreat system but only for select kodak frames. This service allows you to use all of Kodak online galleries and printing services to send these same image to your Digital Picture Frame. The service is easy to use and works great you just need a kodak wireless frame to use it. FrameChannelThis is a great system because it is open and becoming, if not already, the industry standard for image management. You create an account at www.framechannel.com then upload all of your images, they turn it into an RSS feed and then you display your custom RSS feed on your frame. You also have the option to display other published FrameChannel Feeds, such as great photography or stock quotes. This is a free service. Ceiva Picture PlanWorks with all ceiva frames. Costs money around $125/yr. If you have a ceiva frame then you will need to purchase this service. One nice aspect is that Ceiva frames have internal modems so if you do not have a wireless network your picture frame can download your images in the middle of the night using your home telephone line (land line)
Great for GiftsWireless Digital Picture Frames with online image management options make a great gift because you can give the frame to a family member and then update the image on their frame from your computer. Great for granparents or far away friends.
