GiiNii GN-711W Wedge 7" Digital Picture Frame with 512 MB built in memory.

The GN-711W has a wide Screen 15:9 aspect ratio with 800 x 480 resolution and a Single port for SD and MMC media cards. There is also a USB Port for USB Flash Drive or cable connectivity to most cameras or PCs. The Slide show works in order or random with transitional effects. (JPEG-TIF-GIF) Frame dimensions are 12.87 x 8.31 x 5.57.

Other features include: MP3 & WMA music format, Video playback in motion JPEG/.avi, Built In speakers; port for external speakers, Clock/Calendar, on screen programming, zoom in and thumbnail viewing, brightness/contrast, and automatically rotates side-ways pictures.

Overview

High quality frame with stylish looks. Nice Brightness and clear image. Good construction.

Review

The GiiNii 7 Inch wedge is a well designed and constructed frame.

Easy to get the images on the frame and with 512MB of internal memory you may be able to get by without using an additional memory card. However it will be easier to transfer the images via a memory card than continually hooking up the frame via USB.

The overall frame design of a wedge is very nice. Since the frame has a wider bottom there is not need for a back supporting stand and seems to give the frame more overall stability.

The controls are pretty easy to use. It would be nice if they responded a little faster but after some time we were able to get the hang of it.

There is a setting where the frame spends part of the time as a picture frame and then part of the time as a clock. While some might find this helpful, we found it not that useful. We opted to keep the frame showing pictures only.
